Bend-Area Road Work This Week — Tumalo Reservoir Road and the US 97 Terrebonne Roundabout

A quick one for contractors and crews routing through Central Oregon this week.

Deschutes County’s weekly construction update for August 9–15 flags two active zones. Crews may be installing road signage on Tumalo Reservoir Road in the Bend area, with the road remaining open between Johnson Road and Sisemore Road but intermittent shoulder closures possible during work hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Separately, ODOT crews are working on 11th Street and Smith Rock Way in Terrebonne, where Smith Rock Way is closed between 11th Street and 16th Street for road improvements, and Lower Bridge Way is closed between NW 19th Street and US 97 for roundabout construction. Both closures are expected to remain in place through October, with signed detour routes in place and a temporary 45 mph speed limit on NW 19th Street.

Deschutes County crews are also doing cleanup work this week on roads recently chip sealed in the Redmond area, with single-lane closures, flaggers, and delays up to 20 minutes expected Monday through Wednesday during the same 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. work window.

Why this matters for contractors: If your crews or material deliveries route through Terrebonne or the Redmond/Bend corridor this month, the US 97 roundabout closures running through October are worth building into scheduling now rather than discovering at the barricade.
