Hillsboro’s Block 67 Transit-Oriented Development Gets Underway — 100+ Units Coming to Downtown Core

Koz Development has begun construction on Block 67, a transit-oriented mixed-use project in downtown Hillsboro that will enhance vibrancy and activity in the city center, providing a critical link between the Historic Downtown Core, the Health and Education District, and the Baseline/Oak Commercial Corridor. The project, located on the block between SE 6th and 7th Avenue south of Washington Street, is part of Hillsboro’s broader downtown revitalization strategy and aligns with the city’s Capital Improvement Plan. Transit-oriented development of this type — dense, walkable, mixed-income, close to MAX light rail — is increasingly the model being pursued by Portland-area cities seeking to add housing without expanding their urban growth boundaries. For contractors experienced in urban infill and podium-style construction, the Washington County market continues to offer a steady pipeline of similar opportunities. Ram Steelco
