Hillsboro’s New $157 Million Hops Ballpark Is Open — And It’s the Biggest Oregon Stadium Built in 30 Years

After five years of planning and construction, the Hillsboro Hops threw their first pitch on Opening Day, April 7, 2026, at their brand-new $157 million ballpark — the first major stadium built in the Portland metro area since the Moda Center opened three decades ago. The $150 million project was built by design-builder Mortenson with architects SRG Partnership and Populous, and is projected to generate $190 million in local economic output — including nearly 1,000 construction jobs — with an expected ongoing contribution of $64 million annually to the local economy once fully operational. The 6,000-seat venue, located just across the parking lot from the team’s previous home, includes a large club lounge, beer garden, food hall, and a new sound system and LED video board four times the size of the old display. The stadium is also designed to serve as a year-round concert and community events venue for up to 7,000 attendees, with the city and Washington County now planning a new multi-use sports complex at the nearby county fairgrounds to replace the youth fields displaced by construction, tentatively beginning in 2027.
