Oregon CCB Penalty Schedule: Key Fines Every Residential Contractor Must Know

Under Oregon’s current Construction Contractors Board penalty schedule, working without a construction permit where one is required carries fines of $1,000 for a first offense, $2,000 and a three-month license suspension for a second offense, and $5,000 with permanent license revocation for a third offense — penalties that apply to every residential contractor operating in the state. Failure to maintain required liability insurance where no claim has been filed carries a $500 first-offense fine rising to $1,000 for a second offense and $5,000 for third and subsequent offenses, making insurance compliance one of the most cost-effective risk management steps any Oregon contractor can take.
