Oregon CCB Sweeps All Regions — Hundreds of Violations Found

The Oregon Construction Contractors Board’s annual sweep season touched every region of the state over 10 collective weeks, inspecting over 1,000 jobsites and finding hundreds of proposed violations of contractor law — including unlicensed contractor activity, lack of workers’ compensation coverage, and work performed without required permits. CCB Enforcement Manager Vena Swanson emphasized that “unlicensed contractors put consumers at risk” and that once violations are relayed to the compliance team the civil penalty process begins immediately — with first-offense fines of $1,000 for working without a license rising to $5,000 and permanent license revocation for repeat offenders.
