Salem Emerges as Oregon’s Hottest Industrial & Logistics Construction Market

Salem’s Mill Creek Corporate Center has become one of Oregon’s most active industrial construction corridors, attracting major distribution and manufacturing projects including a new Amazon distribution center and a 479,000 square foot Gensco HVAC distribution and manufacturing facility costing $55 million — all taking advantage of Salem’s strategic location on I-5 between Portland and Eugene. The city’s commercial construction activity is heavily weighted toward industrial and warehouse development, with multiple big-box distribution projects underway or recently completed, creating significant subcontracting and supplier opportunities for mid-Willamette Valley contractors looking to diversify beyond residential work.
