Sea-Tac Airport’s Massive SEA Gateway Project Reaches Major Construction Completion — A Pacific Northwest Construction Milestone

Major construction has been completed on the SEA Gateway Project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport — one of the largest and most complex airport infrastructure projects in the Pacific Northwest in recent years — marking a significant milestone for the Port of Seattle and the construction teams that delivered it. The SEA Gateway Project transformed the airport’s central terminal with new concourse connections, expanded passenger facilities, and major infrastructure upgrades designed to accommodate Sea-Tac’s growing role as one of the busiest airports on the West Coast. For the NW contractors and trade workers who built it, the completion of a project of this scale and complexity in an occupied, operating airport environment represents one of the most demanding construction achievements in the region’s recent history. The DJC’s 2026 TopProjects awards are expected to recognize the project for its construction excellence.
