Willamette View to Break Ground on 92-Unit Senior Housing Building Near Milwaukie

Senior housing provider Willamette View plans to break ground on Skyline, a 92-unit independent living building on its campus near Milwaukie, according to reporting picked up in a recent Portland-area development roundup. The project is one of several currently moving through Portland-area development pipelines, alongside the Dominican Friars’ Veritas Place redevelopment of four of its five church-owned blocks and a City Council resolution starting the process of transferring development rights near the Moda Center to Albina Vision Trust.

Why this matters for contractors: Senior and independent-living housing has been one of the more resilient product types in a soft Portland-area multifamily market. Contractors with senior-living construction experience should watch for Willamette View’s general contractor selection and subcontractor bid packages as the project moves from planning to groundbreaking.
